That’s why Tacoma RV Center is proud to partner with Care Camps Foundation throughout the month of June to help support children who have cancer or have battled cancer and their families.
For every RV sold during the month of June, Tacoma RV Center will donate $100 directly to Care Camps Foundation with the goal of raising $10,000 to help send children and their siblings to medically supervised oncology camps completely free of charge.
What Is Care Camps Foundation?
Care Camps Foundation is a national nonprofit organization that funds medically supervised pediatric oncology camps across the United States and Canada. Their mission is to bring joy, hope, healing, and community to children living with cancer and their families through the power of outdoor experiences.
These camps provide children with an opportunity to simply be kids again — to laugh, play, swim, hike, make friends, and enjoy campfires instead of hospital rooms and treatments.
Even more importantly, the camps are offered completely FREE to families, helping remove additional financial burdens during an already difficult time.
Why These Camps Matter
Cancer affects more than just a diagnosis. It impacts entire families emotionally, physically, and financially.
Children going through cancer treatment often miss out on normal childhood experiences. Many spend months or even years in hospitals, undergoing treatments, surgeries, and appointments. Their siblings and parents also carry emotional stress throughout the journey.
Care Camps Foundation helps create safe spaces where families can reconnect and children can regain confidence, joy, and independence.
All camps supported through Care Camps Foundation are members of the Children’s Oncology Camping Association (COCA) and include trained medical professionals onsite to provide necessary care throughout the camp experience.
This means children can safely enjoy outdoor adventures while still receiving the medical support they need.
